Wait Your Turn

04 Jul

Francis Bacon: “Write down the thoughts of the moment.  Those that come unsought for are commonly the most valuable.”

Augh…. I’m doing so well with “Bloodwork,” I’m near the end, I can just taste it…!

So, will someone please tell me WHY I have a new character poking my brain saying, “Write me, write me, write me…!”

Guys, seriously, this isn’t fair. She’s even got a name already. Obviously the logical thing to do would be to scribble some notes on this new character and idea, then return straight back to “Bloodwork.” That’s exactly what I’m going to do, but… I really want to write about this new character now.

Stupid muses.

Ay…those muses! I had the same thing happen while I was writing my professional paper/thesis this past year — I spent half of Spring Break outlining and writing a creation story for the YA fantasy I’m working on…I guess the muses like to kick in when I have other things that are more pressing to be writing! Yay for doing NaNoWriMo! Good Luck!

I agree — muses tend to like to steal the spotlight from your other projects. Thanks for the lovely comment, and best of luck with your writing endeavors as well! 🙂

This is when you say: “Screw you, Muse! I’m busy right now!”
