Camp NaNo starts tomorrow! PANIC IN THE STREETS!
I’ve been excited all month to start the story that I actually have some sort of synopsis for that I plan to write during camp next month. I have little scene snippets and side characters and snapshots of the setting in my mind just waiting to be written down to come together into a fun little story.
Then my treacherous brain had to go all “What if?” on me again and gave me another story idea.
I was cuddling with the dogs and watching television. Rather, I was trying to read the satellite guide. I wasn’t wearing my glasses and I had an 8-pound chihuahua mix on my legs and a 30-pound beagle on my stomach, so moving wasn’t exactly an option. At some point while squinting to read the fine print, I thought to myself, “I need some new eyes.”
Then my mind goes along the lines of, “What if there was some society where, instead of plastic surgery, the lower class sells parts of their bodies for money or something to the upper class and there are people who go and collect said parts and they’re called Body Reapers or Body Collectors and one of the Body Reapers-slash-Collectors wants to do something about this stupid society, maybe even because someone that she knows had to give his or her eyes or ears or something and it’s not fair and thus starts a revolution?”
… Yeah, I don’t know. This idea is going on the shelf for now in favor of NPC, but it’s definitely an interesting thought.
