To Read: May 2015

08 May

Like last month, I thought I’d share what books I’m planning on reading. I’m still in the middle of Ready Player One by Ernest Cline from my last list, but I’m always ambitious when to comes to the number of books I can devour. This month’s selections include:

A Dance of Mirrors by David Dalglish is the third book in his Shadowdance series. It’s been a while since I read the previous two books, but I enjoyed them enough to buy books three through five at once. The sixth book in the series is actually slated to come out next week and is (supposedly) the final book in the series. The series is fantasy, with corruption and assassins running amok and is a fun, dark world to get sucked into for a few hours.

I bought Impulse on a, well… impulse during a fairly recent trip to Barnes and Noble. My reasoning for picking it up was because I wanted to read about “something in space.” This is Dave Bara’s debut novel and appears to be the first in a coming series. The books dominating my shelves all lean toward the fantasy genre, so it should be fun to dive into a bit of sci-fi.

STAN LEE’S NAME IS ON THE COVER. That’s literally the main reason as to why I picked up this book, haha! Despite my Marvel fangirlism prompting me to buy The Zodiac Legacy, the story itself sounds like an engaging concept, playing with superheroes and powers and saving the world, much like many of the movies dominating the box office lately. Another first in a series, I’m optimistic that this introductory novel will not disappoint.

What are you reading lately? Does anyone want to share spoiler-free comments about my choices?

The only one of those books I’ve even heard of is “Ready Player One”… I’ll have to check out the others.

Ever since I bought Ready Player One, I feel as if I see and read about it everywhere! It’s not bad so far, but I’m only about a quarter into it. 🙂
