Cursed Child

02 Aug

Lately I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump, starting books and never finishing them, not finding anything to really hold my attention for very long. I haven’t logged into my Goodreads account in a while.

(On that note, nor have I updated my Goodreads Challenge on the side bar. I have definitely read more than two books this year — I swear my reading slump hasn’t been that bad!)

So I picked up Harry Potter again. I’m about halfway through the first book, and with the Cursed Child’s script out now, well…

I wonder if I’ll be able to read through all seven Harry Potter books before reading the Cursed Child, or if I’ll get the script and succumb to the temptation and read it early.

Have any of you devoured the Cursed Child yet? Please no spoilers in the comments, but let me know what you think of it!

I really hope I get the chance to read the Cursed Child soon and maybe see the play if I can.

I would LOVE to see the play, but being on the other side of the ocean, I’m not going to get that chance. I’m hoping the script will be enough to whet my appetite. 🙂 I hope you enjoy it!

I haven’t read it yet, but I plan to read it soon. It’s probably a good idea to go through all of the books to refresh yourself for Cursed Child!

Yes, I’m hoping to read through the rest of the novels as well. We’ll see how well I can resist the temptation!

According to the enthusiastic HP fan behind the counter at Asda yesterday, you have to read it for what it is. It’s a play script, not a novel. If you forget that, it doesn’t work so well.

Yes, I know it’s a script, one that wasn’t even fully written by Rowling herself at that. Still, it’s the closest I’ll get to seeing the play, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it enough! I don’t think there will be the same magic as when I first read each of the novels, but I’m sure it’ll be close. 🙂

I’ve read it, and enjoyed it very much. It may only be in script format, but I was still able to appreciate the story and the characters. Being able to sit down with a new Harry Potter book – and read it more or less in one sitting – was something I never thought I’d get to do again.

Yay for a positive review! There’s hope yet, haha! Thanks for sharing, and I’m sure it’ll be an enjoyable read for me too. 🙂
