Moniker Help

19 Oct
Going off of yesterday’s post, I thought I’d do a quick list of sites that usually help me out with finding character names. Enjoy!
Nymbler – I forget where I found this little treasure of a site, but it has helped me name plenty of characters. You type in a name you like and the site will suggest more names inspired by the meaning, origin, and popularity of your given name.
Fantasy Name Generators – I think I’ve plugged this site before on here. Fantasy Name Generators has tons of different generators for all sorts names, from real names to fantasy species and locations. Superheroes, club names, fairy names… It’s lots of fun to explore!
Baby Name Genie – If you have a ready last name for a character but aren’t quite sure what kind of first (and middle) name would go with it, try the Baby Name Genie. You plug in the surname and gender (if you wish), and the Genie will give you a matching baby name.
Social Security Popular Baby Names – Jac Forsyth of Crone commented on yesterday’s post regarding looking up the popular names of the year her characters were born to try to find that perfect name. She reminded me of this website that does just that for you. Thanks Jac!
