Playing Librarian

0dd2b4babdf570c4b5b59b61975cf892How often do you lend out your books to other people?

Are you the type to hoard your books, giving your friends directions to the library instead of handing out your precious books to them? Or do you happily loan your books, hoping that they’ll take your friends on amazing adventures like they’ve taken you?

Maybe you’re a bit in between… You loan out books, but you hover and ask about them often so you’re positive your friends won’t lose or hurt them. Perhaps you have one of those fancy stamps inside all your books that say, “On loan from Fred’s Library.”

A few years ago, I had let my younger cousin borrow a book. It was a novel that I’ve read a couple of times over, a quick enough read that I could go through the entire story during a lazy day at the beach. I wasn’t in any hurry to get it back, but I went to their house yesterday, and figured that she’s probably not going to finish it if it’s taken her a few years to read two chapters.

I’m all for sharing my books, but I would like to have them back eventually! What about you?

I do share but I keep a secret list of who I have loaned my books and movies to. LOL. I don’t tell people that part. You can learned a lot about people that way.

No one I know reads… Except you, so my books are all kept for myself.

That sounds sad… but at least you don’t have to worry about your books!
