What’s your writing niche?

What topic do you tend to write about the most? What subject are you most comfortable explaining through pen and paper (or keyboard and computer)? Is there a certain something that people look to you to explain?

Fiction-wise, I tend to write fantasy, but I’ve been thinking more about what kind of nonfiction I would write. I’ve worked with, and adore, dogs and animals, and I’m fairly proficient with some IT topics. Freelancing nonfiction articles is one way to crash through the golden gates of publishing, so figuring out what topics I want to pitch is a good way to start.

The second step is getting the courage to actually cold email places and convince them that it’s to their benefit to publish my articles. Rachel’s already on that step — I just have to catch up!
