Bullet Journals

Fairly recently, Rachel and I started bullet journaling.

(Is that a word? Journaling? It is now.)

It was something that we always wanted to do, especially since both of us are on Pinterest and see all the pretty and extremely fancy bullet pages that people create to help get their lives in order. Our pages are nowhere near as fancy, but the few we’ve done have suited our needs.

I have a weekly spread for the rest of the year, mainly just to record blog posts for both this blog and Double Jump and a Word Count Tracker page. And, at this point and time, the Word Count Tracker is still blank.

I have been writing, of course, usually just small scribbles in my notebooks when relaxing before bed, but I haven’t been cataloging the amount of words in my journal. What I should do is date every little box I have on the tracker to try to write everyday on my WIPs instead of just sporadically, and color in the boxes on days that I actually write and don’t write. Like, have an angry red or sad blue on days that I don’t write.

Anyone else do bullet journals?

Blog Resolutions

tumblr_myp4lfaead1qewacoo1_500

  • Continue posting every day — last year was the first time really committing to this blog, and it’s been a fantastic habit both for my writing and for communicating with others (see, Mom, I promise I won’t turn into a hermit!).
  • Schedule out more posts in advance — I’m a procrastinator by design, but by actually scheduling and writing out more posts ahead of time, I’ll have more time on my hands to work more on my writing, reading, and drawing (… and video gaming).
  • Read more — definitely need to carve out more time for reading, not only to include some more reviews on this blog, but also because think of all the awesome books I’m missing out on!
  • Be better with commenting — I’m awful at this one, and I aim to be a lot better. Don’t take as long to reply to comments on my own posts, but also poke around more at other blogs on WordPress. I follow some amazing people around here, and I need to show them more love!

What about you all out there? Got any good resolutions, for blogging or otherwise?

Changes

Hey, look, a new site address!

Yeah, I finally took a page from my sister’s book and decided to update the title of my blog. I’ve also been updating and modifying my other blog, which I hadn’t been active on in over half a year, Mini Pawprints. Long ago, when I had delusions of grandeur for this blog, I was going to try to cram all sorts of different passions into this one blog, including (but not limited to) writing, animals, food, video games, and music. Although I’m still passionate about all of those interests, writing and animals are at the very top and I’ve dedicated my two blogs to them.

Lately I’ve been perusing websites and magazines that could be potential clients of mine, places where I can send off polished short stories and articles, in between typing up and editing drafts of my novels. Rachel is brilliant and has the lovely 2015 Writer’s Market book, so I’ve been stealing that periodically to browse through.

It’s daunting. Exciting, but daunting. I’m expecting to get rejected many a-times before being accepted anywhere, but at least I’m heading in the right direction and narrowing down what I would love to write about for the masses.

I hope everyone’s doing well, and happy writing! 🙂
