So, I had started a new job this week as mentioned previously in this blog. No longer do I work at the bookstore (good-bye, dear discount… you will be greatly missed!), although I will certainly continue to be an avid customer.
With this new job, however, I actually have a set schedule that includes weekends free! It’s actually one of the most exciting prospects of this new job, haha!
I hope everyone else has a fabulous weekend! Anyone reading anything good?

It’s amazing how different NaNo Week Two feels from Week One. Week One, everyone is like, “YAY, WRITE EVERYTHING!” and Week Two is just, “Blah. I want to be done.” There have been a couple of times so far that I wanted to skip a day of writing, promising myself that I’d have plenty of time the next day to catch up. These past couple of days I’ve worked the long, 8 or 9 hour shift that’s smack in the middle of the day, sapping most of my energy. When I get home, I just want to relax and become a couch potato.
HOWEVER. That is not how writing gets done. Writing gets done by sitting one’s butt in the chair and getting the words on the paper/computer screen.
So, despite my lack of energy, I have been staying on par with NaNo’s word count goals, and I’m immensely proud of myself for doing so. In previous years, I have done the, “Oh, skipping a day won’t hurt,” and then find myself at the end of the month with maybe 20k words on a story (and that’s a big maybe). This year that is changing, and I want to continue this, “Let’s write about 1500-2000 words a day,” habit going even past November, because that’s how books come into existence.
We all have stories inside of us. Open the door and set them free.
